About The Position

As a Protective Services Officer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at our Mary Kay facilities. You’ll provide armed protection of corporate property, personnel, and visitors—helping prevent illegal entry, theft, vandalism, safety hazards, and fire. You’ll routinely patrol buildings, grounds, and parking areas, checking for irregularities and ensuring doors, windows, and gates are secured. You’ll also administer emergency medical assistance and provide armed escorts as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility to receive a state security commission (based on state of employment).
  • Ability to obtain Texas Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) certification within one year.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with department‑issued weapons (training provided).
  • Ability to learn fire systems, electronic security systems, key/lock programs, and hazardous material recognition/response.
  • Strong independent judgment and decision‑making skills in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of security operations, safety procedures, evidence handling, and multiple life‑safety system platforms.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when assigned to lobby/reception posts.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for instructions and documentation.
  • Basic math skills for completing accurate timekeeping.
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • Valid in‑state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record per company MVR policy.
  • Ability to hear alarms/alerts, recognize hazardous materials, observe incidents, and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical capability to respond quickly to emergencies, run stairs, kneel, perform CPR, and assist injured individuals.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, patrol premises, read gauges, replace shredding bins, assist with vehicle issues, and support events.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally; may require lifting up to 100 lbs in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol all facilities to identify security breaches, fire risks, and safety hazards; take corrective action and document incidents in the PPM 2000 reporting system.
  • Maintain logs and records at your assigned post, including the Operations Log used for dispatch and radio tracking.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections for vehicles, firearms, medical bags, eyewash stations, and fire systems.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies such as accidents, fires, or safety incidents.
  • Manage parking and vehicle traffic to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized solicitation.
  • Provide armed escort services for the movement of funds and materials once state commissioning requirements are met.
  • Deliver first aid, CPR, and medical support once First Responder certification is obtained.
  • Support additional duties, including rotating posts/shifts and collecting/discarding confidential data.
