(Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Days off: Wednesday & Thursday). As a member of the St. John’s Protective Services Team, the Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors, and employees. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Also conducts checks to ensure the safety of the facility and grounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.
- Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
- Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred.
- At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer.
- Performs Patrols of Campus.
- Answers calls for Service.
- Investigates complaints.
- Responds to medical and fire alarms.
- Prepares logs and Reports.
