About The Position

Mesa Associates, Inc. (Mesa) is seeking a Protection & Control (P&C) Engineering Associate with 3 to 6 years of design experience. This role is within the Power Delivery Substation (PDS) group. The ideal candidate will be able to read, understand, and help produce P&C design drawings, including Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, Elementary and Connection diagrams, Front & Rear View Layout/Elevation drawings, and Bills of Material. The candidate will also be skilled at producing connection diagrams from AC/DC schematics and proficient in using AutoCAD. Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of design experience.
• Ability to read, understand and help produce Protection & Control design drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, Elementary and Connection diagrams, Front & Rear View Layout/Elevation drawings, Bills of Material, etc.).
• Ability to produce connection diagrams based on AC/DC schematics.
• Skilled at using AutoCAD.
• Inquisitive nature and ability to investigate solutions to problems before seeking help.
• Eye for detail.
• Good work habits.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency at using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• P&C design experience relative to HV/MV substations and/or generation plants.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and help produce Protection & Control design drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, Elementary and Connection diagrams, Front & Rear View Layout/Elevation drawings, Bills of Material, etc.).
• Produce connection diagrams based on AC/DC schematics.
• Perform self-checks on all design work prior to submission to checkers.
