Protection & Control Engineer
About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to join their Transmission, Distribution & Renewables Sector team in Burnaby, BC. This role involves working on major engineering projects globally and contributing to improving communities worldwide. The Transmission, Distribution & Renewables Sector is a leader in power generation and distribution, with significant involvement in hydro and power systems, contributing to a large amount of hydropower production, transmission lines, and substations worldwide. The engineer will be part of a diverse and inclusive team focused on engineering a better future.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years + relevant experience
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and is registered with EGBC
- Has taken courses in Protection & Control at a University level or equivalent
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills and good work ethic
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with PLC programming
Responsibilities
- Prepare Protection & Control designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations
- Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code
- Prepare single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics, panel layouts and bill of materials and detailed wiring diagrams
- Program Protection & Control devices
- Work on reports and calculations and perform site visits
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects
