About The Position

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a Protected Health Information Records Specialist to join their team. This role supports the daily operations of Quality Assurance by ensuring effective communication, efficient workflow, and consistent service delivery. The specialist will maintain compliance with policies and standards, support staff and clients, and foster a culture of quality and accountability within a healthcare organization that provides holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or administrative support role strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other administrative tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers, staff, and external partners.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and client-centered care.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary education preferred
  • Certification in protected health information management a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews client chart closures to ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Audits closed charts for timeliness, completeness, and quality; identify discrepancies or missing elements and works with providers/staff to resolve issues.
  • Generates and issues completion certificates for finalized services, programs, or treatment episodes, ensuring documentation aligns with compliance and quality standards.
  • Participates in quality improvement and compliance initiatives as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential documentation consistent with HIPPA, 42CFR Part 2, and organizational standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
