About The Position
Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (ABC) to join their Honolulu team. This role involves producing quality prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients up to age 21, managing departmental aspects, and providing consultations to physicians and other healthcare professionals. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics
- ABC Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Central Fabrication model
- 3+ years of clinical and technical expertise in Orthotics/Prosthetics
Responsibilities
- Provides Prosthetic and Orthotic Consultation to Physician and assist in evaluating the patient for the appropriate device
- Demonstrating the ability to design, fabricate, modify and repair all varieties of Prostheses and Orthoses ensuring optimal function, fit and comfort
- Controls the flow and quality of Prosthetic and Orthotic fabrication and ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner
- Assessing, entering and retrieving data, using system applications to register, schedule, plan and document patient care, including patient education, at all times. Accessing SHCIS (read only) as necessary
- Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide population specific care, which include age (infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients) and culture, providing proper intervention in accordance with department guidelines
