About The Position

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the City agency responsible for regulating for-hire transportation in New York City. The Prosecution Division is responsible for the prosecution of all summonses issued by the TLC. The Division includes the Court Unit, which investigates and prosecutes over 100,000 summonses annually, and the Consumer Complaint Unit, which initiates and prosecutes complaints filed by consumers. The Prosecution Division is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join the Unit and contribute to the continued success of its operations by supporting the effective administration of prosecution-related functions.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above

Responsibilities

• Interacting with various licensees
• Processing settlement offers in ROCKET
• Processing payment plans for licensees
• Assisting with the removal of suspensions
• Entering and maintaining information and data within Agency databases
• Retrieving and compiling data as necessary
• Responding to inquiries from licensees in person and by email
• Providing appropriate guidance and information
• Utilizing strong customer service skills
• Coordinating translation services when needed
• Assisting with additional case support and operational duties as required
