About The Position

We are seeking a Propulsion Validation Lead to drive end-to-end validation activities across advanced powertrain systems, including internal combustion (ICE), hybrid, and battery electric vehicle (BEV) programs. This role serves as a central integration point across engineering, manufacturing, calibration, fleet operations, and quality teams, ensuring alignment of validation strategies from development through production launch. You will lead validation planning, execution, and issue resolution to ensure propulsion systems meet performance, durability, and quality targets in a fast-paced, cross-functional automotive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in propulsion systems, validation, calibration, manufacturing support, or vehicle development.
  • Strong knowledge of ICE, hybrid, and BEV propulsion architectures.
  • Experience with ETAS INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel (0–20%).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with vehicle launch, in-plant validation, or fleet operations.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems and charging infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with EOL testing and manufacturing validation.
  • Understanding of OBD, CAN communication, and embedded controls.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, HIL, or virtual validation tools.
  • Experience in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate propulsion system validation across development, launch, and production phases for ICE, hybrid, and BEV programs.
  • Serve as the central integration lead aligning engineering, manufacturing, calibration, quality, and fleet operations.
  • Develop and manage validation plans including DOE, DVP, and test strategies.
  • Oversee validation execution across plant, fleet, and lab environments including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Support in-plant validation, End-of-Line (EOL) readiness, and manufacturing alignment.
  • Lead issue triage, First-Level Analysis (FLA), and root cause investigations.
  • Assess risks, define corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate resources including test facilities, vehicles, and engineering support.
  • Provide clear validation status, risk, and readiness reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement of validation processes and workflows.
