About The Position

JOB OVERVIEW The Propulsion Engineer provides technical engineering support for CFM56 engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities. This role works closely with production teams to troubleshoot technical issues, support engine strip and build activities, and resolve engineering discrepancies while ensuring compliance with regulatory and technical requirements. The Propulsion Engineer contributes to maintaining engine integrity, operational efficiency, and on‑time delivery by supporting investigations, MRB actions, and technical documentation across engine operations. To support our operations, we are looking for candidates interested in day, evening, or weekend shift opportunities. These schedules offer consistency and can provide added flexibility during the week. Day shift: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Evening shift: Monday to Thursday, approximately 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, offering long weekends every week Weekend shift: Friday to Sunday, approximately 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, working 12‑hour days. Weekend team members are paid for a full 40‑hour work week, even though fewer hours are scheduled. Shift availability and preferences will be discussed during the recruitment process to ensure the best fit for both the candidate and the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant technical experience in engine maintenance, repair, or overhaul, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations (FARs, CARs), service bulletins (SBs), and airworthiness directives (ADs)
  • Experience with engine ATA 72 components, with familiarity in areas such as life-limited parts (LLPs), fan frame, compressors, turbines, exhaust systems, LRUs, and accessories
  • Background in aircraft propulsion systems and technical troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable contributing to investigations and technical analysis with appropriate guidance
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluency in French and English

Nice To Haves

  • Test cell experience is considered an asset
  • Holds, is eligible for, or is interested in working toward certification or designation such as Powerplant Design Engineer (DE/DES), TC or FAA delegate/designee, DAR, or DER (considered an asset, not a requirement)

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support to production teams during CFM56 engine strip and build activities
  • Collaborate with powerplant engineers within the production-oriented delivery cell (POD), offering technical guidance on findings, scope adjustments, and day-to-day technical questions
  • Support the review and resolution of Material Review Board (MRB) requests and engineering findings in alignment with operational schedules and turnaround objectives
  • Communicate technical topics clearly and professionally with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), as well as with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in investigations related to warranty, quality, or engine events, contributing to technical reports and root cause analysis as needed
  • Ensure Work Order Scope (WOS) documentation aligns with FTAI technical specifications
  • Work closely with configuration and methods engineering during publication reviews and PMA/DER review activities
  • Assist in the development of engineering procedures and technical instructions (TIs)
  • Support the evaluation and preparation of engineering disposition procedures (EDPs)
