Propulsion Base Software Communications Sr Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Core/Base Embedded Software Engineer to develop Base software for Propulsion domain Modules. The role involves end-to-end development of base software components, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, coding, test plan development, and verification of features such as communication stacks and low-level drivers. The engineer will participate in reviews and inspections of requirements, design specifications, AUTOSAR BSW configurations, and C/C++/assembly code to support high-quality, standards-compliant software delivery. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors to elicit and refine software requirements, and adopting and promoting virtualization methods and modern development practices throughout the software lifecycle. Experience with diagnostics and low-level driver development within base software is highly desirable.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
- Experience with or good understanding of embedded C/C++ software.
- Experience configuring Classic AUTOSAR communication stacks.
- Deep understanding of Ethernet and CAN/LIN protocols.
- Experience with programming and/or scripting languages.
- Experience in software verification and validation.
- Experience using data acquisition tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment with minimal effect on productivity.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CAN stack, Ethernet Stack, SPI, LIN and Flash Bootloader integration, OSEK OS, or diagnostic management.
- Hardware background, including ability to read and understand ECU schematics and identify hardware-software integration issues.
- Automotive software development experience, either at work or university.
- Embedded C/C++ software experience in a Real Time Operating System environment.
- Experience with AUTOSAR tools, ETAS ISOLAR, CANoe, CANAnalyzer, or Lauterbach debugger.
- Experience implementing embedded real-time controls and software solutions.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and/or vehicle subsystems.
- Familiarity with microprocessor-based controls and development tools such as emulators and debuggers.
- Experience with simulation/virtual methodologies and/or tools.
- Experience with diagnostics and low-level driver development within base software.
