About The Position

Leidos has an extensive Proposal Operations team that supports growth objectives for the US Navy & Marine Corps IT Business Area. This Business Area includes the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract, which is the largest IT services program for the Navy, delivering the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. The SMIT contract Proposal Operations team is looking for an intern who has an interest in a career in Business Development. The program is designed to prepare high potential interns for future positions in Leidos by exposing them to a variety of challenging work environments and pairing them with Proposal Operations leaders who will provide mentoring throughout their internship. Primary Responsibilities The Proposal Operations team is a dynamic group of professionals responsible for growing and contributing to growth at the Navy and Marine Corps IT Business Area. Our teams are fast-paced, strategic, and highly motivated to win and capture new business. Successful candidates typically have a high-energy level, strong enthusiasm, passion for innovative thinking, a competitive edge, and strong communication skills. Intern candidates will have opportunity to work with professionals in the following functional areas: - Proposal Management - Document Quality Assurance - Solutions - Basis of Estimates - Business Operations Basic Qualifications The program considers college students who have completed 2 years toward their degree who have demonstrated a record of high performance and a willingness to learn. Intern Program Criteria: - Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university in related field of study - Academic excellence - Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills - Energy, enthusiasm and competitive edge - Flexibility - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - Willingness to continually learn and grow - Ability to Work in Team - Ability to work under pressure - US citizenship required Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge and experience in the US Government's procurement process - Major in Business, Marketing or related discipline - Knowledge of Government Contractor’s proposal process and development If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
