About The Position

The Proposal Leader prepares company proposals and works to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. The Proposal Leader will collaborate with various departments throughout the company to review and assess project plans. Responsible for creating proposals and maintaining communication with prospects.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business, with five (5) years of experience in technical proposal preparation, technical sales and/or complex project management OR equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Development of final and budgetary proposals for company products and services
  • Leadership and coordination of technical and commercial information necessary to respond to customer and company needs
  • Take ownership in preparation/ follow-up of proposals for company products and services in response to customer requests
  • Gain full understanding of customer needs through thorough review of customer provided information and communication with respective account manager
  • Communicate proposal requirements to functional departments
  • Oversee solicitations and assist in evaluating quotations from potential major subcontractors with support from our purchasing and engineering departments along with our estimators
  • Compile and review functional department proposal input to ensure compliance with customer technical and commercial requirements
  • Maintain and ensure the dispositioning of entries into the proposal risk register
  • Prepare the necessary pricing with input from estimating, supply chain and other departments, as necessary
  • Ensure the proposal communicates the strategy and messaging thereof
  • Address customer feedback/questions concerning proposal submittals
  • Lead contract negotiations with customers working with our commercial manager
  • Prepare contract release documentation
  • Address customer requests for preliminary pricing, technical and performance information
  • Customer presentations and on-site meetings
  • Participation in trade shows
  • Provide support to the project management team
  • Prepare and execute all internal approval requirements in support of the company’s quality system
  • Improve proposal development processes and efficiency
  • Develop hydro turbine technical product knowledge
