About The Position

Responsible for complete technical proposals and technical negotiations with customers resulting in a signed-off technical specification for new build capital contracts. Coordinate technical design activities and economic optimizations required for competitive technical proposals. Responsible for the preliminary design, engagement of subvendors, and cost summary for bought out components. Employ successful strategies and design approaches for equipment into proposals that ultimately lead to profitable orders. Develop new and existing accounts by meeting the customer’s expectations in terms of supplying the customer with a quality product, competitive pricing, and timely support.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
One (1) year of experience with Design of boilers or heat recovery systems, and/or other large scale industrial equipment systems
One (1) year of experience with Logistics supporting capital projects as they relate to transportation, international trade, and risk mitigation.
Subject to background check and physical/substance screening.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of company’s thermal / mechanical design standards and philosophy, guidelines, work instructions, computer programs, and principles and details of application.
Maintain the technical proposal files in a structured manner, in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines.
Coordinate and proactively manage internal support from other departments and areas as required to support the Sales Department and maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
Review customer technical specifications and establish firm understanding of the customer’s requirements through direct communications with the customer.
Responsible for full preparation of the technical proposal. This includes exceptions/ clarifications to customer specifications, preparation of technical strategies for Management approval, development of the General Arrangement drawings and P&IDs and coordinating with the Thermal Sales Engineers and other engineering departments as needed.
Responsible for emissions calculations, emissions guarantees, and other technical guarantees.
Complete preliminary design, prepare inquiries, and evaluate bids for bought out components. Accountable for the cost estimate for bought out components in coordination with and under supervision of the Manager of Proposals.
Attend proposal review and bid clarification meetings at customer’s offices. Prepare and conduct technical presentations for customers as required. Effectively and independently negotiate the technical contract.
Coordinate the transfer of design and specifications to the executing departments after a contract award.
Share responsibility for developing and expanding profitable, efficient customer relationships by providing accurate and timely support for customer needs.
