About The Position

The Proposal Consultant is a visible position working with important Rockwell Automation partners and customers to develop commercial offers within the framework of our strategic and financial goals, ensuring compliance with internal policies. You will solve any complex concerns or issues that may arise by navigating internal organization and processes, and Rockwell Automation resources. For a successful outcome, you'll take a lead or supporting role to ensure all content and estimates are for a comprehensive proposal that meets the required scope. You will report to the Proposal Consultant Manager and have a hybrid schedule working out of any one of Rockwell's business locations in central or eastern US.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years related experience in an industrial environment (engineering, projects, maintenance, sales, support)
  • Knowledge of industrial products and applications, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation products (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Industrial Controls, etc.)
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers to provide additional products/services for power and control solutions.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, either engineering and executing projects or in a sales role.
  • Demonstrated skills to clearly develop proposals, design information, and technical issues/resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Employ commercial and technical skills while tapping your creative side to maximize Rockwell profit and growth opportunities.
  • Negotiate internally and externally applying a sound understanding of cost, value, and profit margin to establish pricing with approvals.
  • Approve costs, pricing, margins, and other commercial terms within your decision authority.
  • Work with different team members, including Proposal Consultants, Engineers, Application Consultants, Sales/Distributors, Channel Partners, RA Business Units, Contracts and Negotiations.
  • Support by contributing to training classes for the channel teams and Regional Proposal Specialists to increase their abilities to handle standard product quotes themselves, leaving only the most complex for the Proposal Development Team.
  • Employ commercial and technical skills and creativity to maximize RA profit and growth opportunities while negotiate internally and externally
