Property Underwriter

Ledgebrook
•$90,000 - $150,000•Remote

About The Position

Ledgebrook is seeking experienced Property Underwriters to help build a profitable book of property business and deliver relevant, risk-differentiated solutions to wholesale trading partners. The role focuses on efficient, high-quality underwriting that meets or exceeds broker needs. Candidates should bring an entrepreneurial drive, a record of underwriting excellence, and an interest in building a company outside the traditional insurance-company model. As part of the Property team, the underwriter will regularly engage wholesale trading partners by phone, virtually, and in person to encourage in-appetite submissions and convert the strongest quoted opportunities. The team is seeking disciplined E&S property underwriters with experience across multiple industry segments, such as manufacturing, distribution, real estate, retail, mercantile, habitational, and hospitality. The company is flexible about experience level and physical work location. The specific title and role—such as Underwriter, Senior Underwriter, Executive Underwriter, individual contributor, or team lead—will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Ledgebrook currently operates fully remotely and emphasizes experience and cultural fit. The position includes independent travel to meet assigned brokers and attend industry conferences or events with the broader team.
