About The Position

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL, providing quality services to local youth. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting in property control functions and records retention, in compliance with government and management directives
  • Responsible for the inventory of all center equipment, supplies, and reconciliation of the inventory to property records
  • Compile all information obtained from researching records and physical inventory, and prepare property data transmittal sheets to update and correct property listing and maintain proper accountability
  • Control storage of all accountable and consumable property; prepare and control property requirement lists
  • Review all internal move orders and control data input into the government system, maintain computerized records
  • Monitor purchase requisitions for accountable property
  • Assign account, PRL line item, schedule, federal stock, and property tag numbers to property
  • Conduct excess property screening activities
  • Coordinate with other center staff pertaining to property, especially the assigned property custodians; comply with center control procedures
  • Train staff on property requirements
  • Control property/equipment repairs
  • Audit government property for proper tags and stickers
  • Assess the property custodians quarterly for correct computerized listings on all equipment
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
