Requirements

  • 5+ years of property management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs including HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and Rural Development (RD) preferred
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional resident experiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop leasing, maintenance, and office staff
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate employees in partnership with Regional Management and Human Resources
  • Maintain occupancy goals through effective leasing, marketing, and resident retention strategies
  • Manage rent collections, budgets, financial reporting, and cost controls
  • Ensure compliance with HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, Rural Development (RD), and other affordable housing regulations
  • Conduct property inspections and oversee apartment turns and maintenance operations
  • Partner with Resident Services and community organizations to support resident engagement
  • Resolve resident concerns with professionalism and outstanding customer service
  • Coordinate capital improvement projects with regional leadership and maintenance teams
  • Prepare reports, audits, and documentation while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational excellence

  • Predictable schedule — primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with an on-call rotation (not constant nights or weekends)
