About The Position

Jennings Real Estate Corporation is a fully integrated commercial real estate company headquartered and operating in Ottawa. Specializing in commercial real estate management and development, Jennings Real Estate Corporation manages a rapidly growing portfolio of commercial properties. The Property Manager is responsible for day-to-day management and performance of a mixed-use real estate portfolio including residential, office, industrial and retail properties. This role oversees tenant relations, building operations, service delivery, lease compliance, and contributes to the financial performance of each property. The position requires coordination across internal teams, and external vendors to ensure consistent service levels, efficient operations, and to achieve overall property objectives. The ideal candidate has experience in property management and is comfortable operating across different asset classes.

Requirements

  • Experience in residential and/or commercial property management, or related work experience
  • Experience coordinating vendors, managing service contracts, and responding to tenants
  • Experience in managing a team and working with others
  • Knowledge of buildings systems, trades, and maintenance practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply lease terms in day-to-day operation capacity
  • Basic financial literacy, including invoice review, budget tracking, and receivables / payables
  • Proficient with property management software (e.g. Yardi) and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in business, real estate, property management, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for commercial and residential tenants, managing day-to-day requests, issues and service delivery.
  • Oversee building operations, including maintenance coordination with internal staff and external vendors
  • Conduct property inspections and identify operational or maintenance requirements
  • Tender, award, and manage service contracts
  • Arrange tenant move-ins and move-outs including inspections and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with lease terms across the portfolio
  • Assist with monitoring property operating budget and assist with variance tracking
  • Support preparation of annual operating budget
  • Review invoices for accuracy and submit for processing
  • Monitor receivables and escalate as required
  • Coordinate communication between property management, leasing, accounting and construction teams
  • Support implementation of operational improvements across the portfolio
  • Support property management team with administrative and operating tasks, as required
