About The Position

The largest housing authority in the State of New Mexico is looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their career to work in our fast paced office. Under the direction of the Asset Management Director, this position is responsible for working with a team, including the Operations Manager, Office Assistant, maintenance staff, central office staff, vendors and others to develop a public housing plan to meet goals established for an Albuquerque Housing Authority property. The public housing plan includes maximizing occupancy levels, collections, maintenance, resident relations, enforcing contracts/leases and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid, active New Mexico Driver's License.
  • Insurable by the agency's fleet insurance carrier.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in residential property management, affordable housing programs or a community/social service agency/programs.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in supervising in a management or an administrative capacity.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures and federal documents.
  • Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, contractors, supervisors, co-workers, residents, and city/county agencies.
  • Driving and reliable transportation are requirements of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration or social services.
  • Affordable housing certifications.
  • Low Income Housing Tax Credit and/or Project Based Rental Assistance experience.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
