About The Position

Performs routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and essential repairs. Responds promptly to maintenance requests and work orders. Collaborates with other departments to support facility operations. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and standards. Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Provides emergency repairs during evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed. Monitors and adjusts building systems to ensure optimal performance. Assists in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned. Conducts preventive maintenance on equipment and systems according to schedules. Documents all maintenance work performed in a timely and accurate manner. Participates in on-call periods to address urgent maintenance needs. Inspects and troubleshoots equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Effective communication among employees, and between employees, patients, visitors and supervisors is essential to ensure quality patient care and to avoid misunderstanding, errors and miscommunications which could have a detrimental effect on the health, safety and well-being of patients and co-workers.
  • Individuals in this position must be able to effectively review verbal and written instructions relating to policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and read labels of hazardous chemicals and warning labels.
  • Employees in this position are required to have the capability of fluently speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Must have some knowledge and experience in performing the duties associated with routine maintenance procedures, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, alarm systems, locksmith, and other mechanical systems of the hospital.
  • Must have the ability to document records neatly and accurately.
  • Must have some computer experience, working with a healthcare software computer system is desirable.
  • Knowledge of safe hand and power tool usage
  • High School Grad or Equiv
  • Driver's License (DL)
  • Auto Insurance (AL)

Nice To Haves

  • Working with a healthcare software computer system is desirable.
  • 1+ years experience and/or training in industrial or commercial arts or other associated field
