Chesapeake Farms is seeking a Property & Field Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, safety, and day-to-day operation of our facilities, grounds, equipment, agricultural operations, and conservation areas. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and contributing to sustainable agriculture and land stewardship.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance, farming, construction, equipment repair, property management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment, machinery, vehicles, and hand tools.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work and to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday work may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with agricultural operations, conservation, or wildlife habitat management.
  • Experience operating farm equipment, tractors, utility vehicles, and ground maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of hunting, outdoor recreation, or sporting dog programs.
  • Relevant maintenance, equipment, or safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related issues.
  • Conduct safety, equipment, and facility inspections and support compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with farming operations, conservation projects, and wildlife habitat management.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing, fencing, landscaping, road upkeep, and property improvements.
  • Support guest, recreational, and hunting programs while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment inventories, and work logs.
