About The Position

As a Property Custodian, you will provide material support in the research and analysis of foreign systems in support of U.S. Navy efforts to develop and validate weapon design, countermeasures, and tactics. Some tasks are physically demanding and may require travel either locally, CONUS, or abroad. You will also ensure accountability for government equipment, track inventories, coordinate equipment services, and maintain safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or High School Degree with minimum of 3-years of experience in a similar position
  • Minimum 3 years’ laboratory environment experience
  • Experience performing inventory, tracking, and maintenance/upkeep of equipment and supplies
  • Experience performing (or coordinate for) preventive maintenance, calibration, and general maintenance of laboratory and support equipment
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required for this position
  • Microsoft OS, MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and government-provided software programs such as Atlassian JIRA, and inventory tracking software
  • Material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift, overhead crane etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor/track stockpile and equipment inventory and maintenance
  • Hazardous material (HAZMAT) identification, handling, and storage
  • Perform the operation, maintenance/preventive maintenance, repair, and inspections of material handling equipment (overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and stock picker), to include coordinating and scheduling specialized maintenance services with external vendors
  • Support with the operation, maintenance, and calibration of material and diagnostic equipment to include: scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), optical microscopy, gas meters, Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, radiation detection instruments, and other lab/material handling equipment.
  • General support in a lab environment as determined by project managers.
  • Support with preparation disassembly, inventory, identification, and analysis of components and material.
