Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Supportive housing, which is affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term, is recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness to come indoors, utilizing their Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources to guide individuals toward permanent homes. The Scatter Site program specifically provides community-based, independent apartment housing throughout New York City, coupled with case management services for clients who have experienced chronic homelessness, substance use, and mental health challenges. The Property Coordinator, Scatter Site, works with the program's operation manager to prepare and maintain apartment units for the Scatter Site program. This role involves communicating and coordinating with property management and building superintendents to ensure timely and effective repairs. The Property Coordinator is responsible for ensuring newly leased apartments are ready for clients, including painting, appliance and furniture installation, and welcome kits. Key duties include overseeing apartment repairs, conducting and documenting inspections, approving apartment turnovers, and managing furniture replacement. The incumbent will use Breaking Ground's Asset Management database and Maintenance Connection to manage tenant work orders, communicate with social services staff and clients regarding apartment issues, and maintain accurate records. Coordination with city agencies, landlords, and clients is also essential to ensure apartments meet inspection standards.
