About The Position

Tribal One Architecture & Engineering is looking to hire a Property Condition Assessor / Inspector to join our expanding team of professionals. This position earns a competitive wage of $25.00 - $40.00/hour, depending on experience. Tribal One Companies was formed in February of 2012 to provide our clients with comprehensive construction services. We provide these services to the U.S. Federal Government, State and local Governments, businesses, organizations and Tribal entities. Tribal One executes a wide array of projects including full-service design; facility and infrastructure inspection and assessment; large scale vertical and horizontal construction. Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience performing physical inspections.
  • Some experience performed at multi-family properties specifically.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills, including MS Office applications, email, and file management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Ability to travel out of state up to 70% of the time.
  • Required to read reference guides and maps, and operate a computer, tablet and/or cell phone.
  • Requires visits to facilities, negotiating uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs during on-site inspections.
  • Ability to pass a government background check.
  • US citizenship.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree or 2-year Associate Degree program in engineering, architecture, construction management, historic preservation, construction/building science, or building facilities management.
  • Common ground University's Property Condition Assessment online course offered by EDR.
  • The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Property Inspection Risk Management course offered by the MBA.
  • Real Estate Assessment Center ("REAC") for the Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") as a Certified Home Inspector.
  • Building Performance Institute (BPI).
  • American Society of Home Inspectors ("ASHI").
  • International Association of Certified Home Inspectors ("InterNACHI").
  • At least 12 years assessing multifamily properties and preparation of ASTM E2018 compliant reports.
  • Other Fannie Mae approved professional certifications, registrations, or training.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling to locations throughout the U.S. (typically one week to two weeks at a time), to visit in- and out-of-state sites to evaluate the condition of building structural elements, mechanical systems, grounds, and other property features, and documenting existing inventory and/or observed deficiencies.
  • Performing field work to collect data on property conditions, including inspecting, measuring, categorizing, photographing, and reporting property elements efficiently and accurately.
  • Recording property condition information and entering it into software tools in accordance with provided resources and guidelines.
  • Interacting with site personnel, property managers, and maintenance staff, along with other members of the project team.
  • Communicating effectively in verbal and written form with administrative staff, appraisal staff, supervisors, and managers, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, governmental agencies, professionals, and the public.
  • Assisting project staff with quality control reviews, cross training, and contributing to various other projects and assignments our teams are serving.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as determined by management depending on the project or the office requirements.
