About The Position

The Property Claims Adjuster Specialist works within established guidelines to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims presented by or against USAA members. The role confirms and analyzes coverage, recognizes liability exposure, and negotiates equitable settlements in compliance with state regulations. It uses a virtual-first approach, including desk adjusting and technology-assisted inspections, while also conducting physical inspections in an assigned local territory using a company vehicle. The adjuster manages complex claims independently, including claims involving attorneys, and serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues. The role requires coordination with vendors, internal partners, and potentially regulators, as well as accurate documentation and compliance with risk policies. Workload surges and catastrophe response may involve mandatory on-call dates and evening, weekend, or holiday work.
