This role operates within a production team model to ensure efficient operations and optimal output.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of insurance experience and/or business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must hold applicable state insurance license or have the ability to obtain such within 90 days of employment.
Must hold a valid Driver's License.
Must be able to obtain insurance designations as set forth by the organization’s education plan.

Responsibilities

Sells insurance to new and current clients.
Gains a thorough knowledge of the client’s overall business, including individual concerns.
Analyzes clients’ insurance and risk needs by making observations, identifying objectives, and developing strategies.
Directs sales function in the placement of coverages, including the negotiation of coverages and premiums with underwriters.
Helps policyholders settle insurance claims in the event of a loss.
Anticipates future needs and calls on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts.
Develops long-term relationships with clients and underwriters.
Performs prospecting necessary to achieve new business goals.
Determines avenues to achieve sales goals (may include cold calling, referral opportunities, and association/industry involvement).
Ensures the collection of premiums.
Takes ownership of accounts.
Utilizes strong organizational and time management skills in order to maintain efficiency.
Works to support the organization's goals and values.
Benefits the organization through networking activities outside of work.
Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organization’s education program.
