About The Position

We are a commercial real estate management company in Downtown Los Angeles seeking a hands-on, experienced Accounting Manager to oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple real estate entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to grow with the company long-term.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CRE accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or manager-level role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • AppFolio proficiency preferred; QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI, or similar also accepted
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Self-starter who works independently and meets deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Clear communicator — written and verbal — with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
  • Adapts quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Real estate accounting experience is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for individual properties and consolidated portfolios
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Oversee daily AP, AR, tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, rent collection, daily and monthly banking transactions and reconciliations
  • Review lease abstractions for accurate rent roll integration and revenue recognition
  • Monitor property-level cash flow, operating accounts, reserves, and debt service compliance
  • Track loan compliance, covenants, and lender reporting
  • Support audits, refinances, and lender requests
  • Manage repair and maintenance-related expenses
  • Process full-cycle payroll and maintain payroll-related records
  • Track employee time off, vacation, and sick time
  • Provide basic HR administrative support as needed
  • Manage payroll filings (W-2s, W-3s, 1099s/1096s) and tax deposits
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns, business licenses, and Form 571-L
  • Coordinate with CPAs for year-end reviews and tax preparation
  • Supervise and support an Assistant Manager and AR/AP staff
  • Handle finance-related office tasks and required paperwork
