About The Position

The Property Accountant is responsible for managing accounting functions, including cash management, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, consolidation and reporting. This position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP, company policies and guidelines, as well as internal controls. This role will provide support to the Director of Accounting and other operational leaders as necessary. The Property Accountant is responsible for the U.S. GAAP general ledgers, consolidation and reporting for company’s portfolio. They will perform all aspects of month/quarter/year-end closes, prepare monthly reporting packages and quarterly reporting schedules. This role will also prepare monthly consolidated trial balance, quarterly consolidated financial statements, monthly account reconciliations and other financial schedules as needed. Additionally, the Property Accountant will record intercompany transactions, confirm balances and coordinate information with intercompany counterparts, prepare and process quarterly cash settlements. They will also prepare ad hoc IRS filings, business and property tax filings and governmental data surveys and ensure timely submissions with local and federal agencies. The role may also perform ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate development, private equity, or investment banking
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial software
  • A mind that loves numbers and a personality that loves teamwork
