About The Position

This role is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of a portfolio of commercial real estate entities while working closely with property management, operations, and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Property accounting or commercial real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of: General Ledger Accounting, Financial Statement Preparation, Bank Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Month-End Close
  • Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned commercial real estate entities.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity.
  • Record accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and allocations.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and variance analyses.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting requests.
  • Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with property management and operations regarding financial matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
