About The Position

Teachers will guide 4th and 5th grade students through a STEM-based curriculum. Teachers will implement learning experiences in collaboration with the Science department and PROPEL & Level Up. Teachers will facilitate the learning of students using inquiry-based learning techniques. Teachers will facilitate two 2 ½ hour STEM courses per day for a two-week PROPEL STEM Camp. Teachers will have an opportunity to select and teach courses based on a curriculum provided by the program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Promote healthy academic behaviors in children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Establish a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning and enables students to demonstrate agency, ownership, and reflection.
• Facilitate students utilizing the inquiry-based learning model.
• Mentor and work with student counselors.
• Support and participate in the professional learning community to deepen the understanding of the curriculum, content, and competencies.
