Palmetto Propane is seeking a Propane Tank Painter and Refurbishment Technician for their West Columbia location. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Mechanical ability and willingness to learn.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work full-time hours.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, twist, and stand for entirety of shift.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to handle paints, tools, and propane equipment safely.
Must wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and respirators when required.

Nice To Haves

Painting or equipment repair experience is helpful but not required.
Forklift experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Cleaning propane tanks using pressure washers and other approved equipment.
Removing rust, old paint, and dirt by sanding, grinding, or other approved methods.
Preparing tanks for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer when needed.
Painting propane tanks using company-approved materials and methods.
Applying company decals and safety labels.
Inspecting tanks for damage or excessive corrosion and reporting any issues.
Assisting with removing and installing tank valves when needed.
Safely moving tanks using forklifts or other approved equipment.
Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Following all company safety policies and always wearing required PPE.
Performing all other duties as assigned.
