Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) Hiring Bonus
About The Position
Lakes Gas, a family-owned propane provider with over 60 years of experience and 57 locations in the Midwest, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join their team. This is a local route position, meaning you'll be home every night. The primary responsibilities include delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing excellent customer service. The role also involves maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment, as well as plant maintenance activities. The company emphasizes a local feel and community involvement at each of its locations.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Class B CDL with tanker and hazardous endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements)
- Possess a DOT medical examiner’s card
- Safety conscious
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Good driving skills
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
- A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
- Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English Language
- Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Qualified candidates will be safety conscious and customer service oriented
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pull delivery hose
- Must be able to bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed
Responsibilities
- Delivering propane, propane tanks and cylinders to residential and commercial sites
- Providing first in class customer service
- Maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment
- Plant maintenance activities
- Inspect vehicle and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies or routine maintenance
- DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years
- Maintains compliance with all DOT requirements
- Filling, loading, securing and delivering propane cylinders or bulk
