Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) - Hiring Bonus
About The Position
Lakes Gas, a family-owned propane provider with over 60 years of experience and more than 60 locations in the Midwest, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join their team. This is a local route position, meaning you'll be home every night. The primary responsibilities include delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing excellent customer service. The role also involves maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment, as well as plant maintenance activities. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with specific payout terms after 3 and 6 months of employment.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Class B commercial driver’s license with tanker and hazardous endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements).
- Must carry a DOT medical examiner’s card.
- Safety conscious.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good driving skills.
- Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions.
- A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English Language.
- Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Qualified candidates will be safety conscious and customer service oriented.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to obtain requisite endorsements if not already possessed.
Responsibilities
- Delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
- Providing first-in-class customer service.
- Maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment.
- Plant maintenance activities.
- Operating and maintaining handheld tablets.
- Inspecting vehicles and notifying supervisors of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Maintaining compliance with all DOT requirements.
- Performing DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years.
- Filling, loading, securing, and delivering propane cylinders or bulk.
