About The Position

Family owned for over 60 years, Lakes Gas is among the largest propane providers in the Midwest. This is a local route, home every night, Class B CDL position. Primary responsibilities include delivering propane, propane tanks and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first in class customer service. Additional duties include but are not limited to the maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment, and plant maintenance activities.

Requirements

Minimum of a class B commercial driver’s license with tanker and hazardous endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements)
Must carry a DOT medical examiner’s card
Safety conscious
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good driving skills
Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English Language
Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
Qualified candidates will be safety conscious and customer service oriented
Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets
DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years

Responsibilities

Delivering propane, propane tanks and cylinders to residential and commercial sites
Providing first in class customer service
Maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment
Plant maintenance activities
Inspect vehicle and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies or routine maintenance
Maintains compliance with all DOT requirements
Filling, loading, securing and delivering propane cylinders or bulk
