About The Position

The Promotions & Merchandising Lead is responsible for defining the strategy, structure, and governance of consumer booking promotions and ensuring consistent, effective merchandising of products and offers across all customer touchpoints. This role acts as the strategic owner of offers—determining what promotions exist, why they exist, and how they should be presented—while partnering with Revenue Management, Marketing Intelligence, Planning, and channel teams to activate and optimize performance. The role ensures promotions are commercially sound, clearly positioned, and consistently merchandised. This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

Requirements

  • 6–9+ years in promotions, merchandising, commercial marketing, or related roles
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen
  • Experience partnering with Revenue Management or Analytics teams
  • Ability to balance short-term demand with long-term brand health
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Promotions Strategy & Governance ● Develop and own the promotions strategy and annual/quarterly promotions calendar ● Define promotion objectives, mechanics, and guardrails ● Ensure promotions align with growth, revenue, and product priorities ● Act as the marketing lead partner to Revenue Management on offers ● Conduct competitive analysis to inform promotion design
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization ● Partner with Marketing Intelligence to evaluate promotion performance ● Assess impact on bookings, revenue, and customer behavior ● Identify opportunities to refine or retire promotions ● Provide clear performance readouts and recommendations
  • Merchandising Strategy & Standards ● Define merchandising principles and standards across: digital channels, campaigns, and onboard marketing surfaces ● Ensure products and promotions are consistently and effectively presented ● Develop merchandising playbooks and guidance for channel and onboard teams
  • Cross-Functional Partnership ● Partner with Integrated Planning on promotion timing and sequencing ● Collaborate with Product Marketing to align offers to product narratives and commercial needs ● Work with marketing channel owners to ensure promotions and products are merchandised effectively digitally and at sea ● Support channel teams with clear offer guidance (without owning execution)
  • Continuous Improvement & Governance ● Maintain clarity and discipline around the promotions ecosystem ● Reduce unnecessary complexity or overlapping offers ● Proactively identify risks related to over-promotion or inconsistent merchandising
