About The Position

This part-time role is responsible for supervising day-to-day casino promotions and events, ensuring they align with pro-forma and implementation plans. The specialist will generate required reports for the Promotions and Events division, adhering to specifications for revenue, expenses, labor, business volumes, statistics, regulations, and assets. They will also work with the Promotions and Events Manager to develop and implement innovative Player’s Club programs, promotions, and property-wide entertainment, as well as assist with the annual budget. Collaboration with internal departments is key to maximizing synergy. The role involves managing inter-departmental and internal communication for all promotion and event activities. Additionally, the specialist may cover shifts for absent staff and participate in the selection, training, and scheduling of departmental staff, including temporary and contract labor. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
  • Excellent administrative skills and abilities.
  • Sales and/or community experience necessary.
  • Must understand statistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Responsible, detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • General knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access, as well other software programs.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • A smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems is required. If a smartphone is not provided by the company, a candidate or employee may be provided a smartphone of the company’s choice, through a payroll deduction program.
  • All employees are required to proficiently use a smartphone for company applications, email, and text.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming Regulatory Commission key gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • One-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of casino player tracking systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all day to day casino promotions and events as they relate to pro-forma and implementation.
  • Provides all required reports for and on behalf of the Promotions and Events division in a dutiful and timely manner and according to Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel specifications including but not limited to revenue, expenses, labor, business volumes and statistics, regulations, and assets.
  • Adheres to all gaming, state, federal and local ordinances as specified.
  • Works with Promotions and Events Manager to develop and implement innovative Player’s Club programs, promotions and property wide entertainment.
  • Assists Promotions and Events Manager with the development and implementation of the Promotions and Events annual budget.
  • Works with all internal departments to maximize collaboration.
  • Responsible for inter-departmental and internal communication/ notification for all promotions and events activities.
  • May work shifts that staff members have vacated due to illness, no-show or other such contingencies.
  • Participates in selection, training and scheduling of departmental staff, off-site help and temp employees, to include contract labor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
