Supports the applications engineering / project management department by providing pre-sale and after sale engineering of purchased components.

Requirements

  • Knowledge- Software Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook) AutoCAD, HyCAD, Inventor, (Demo 3D a plus)
  • Skills: Interpersonal Analytical Project/Process Management Clerical/Secretarial Computer/Technical Written and Oral Communication
  • Abilities: Ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables, as well as have a high level of creative thinking ability.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with analyzing job results and planning workflow
  • Experience with maintaining production schedules, on multiple and simultaneous projects
  • 7 years of experience in the field may be a substitute for an Engineering degree.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales effort as needed by providing systems engineering, assisting with layout design, sourcing and specifying buyout components and develop drawings during quoting process.
  • 3D Modeling Conveyor systems engineering
  • Support the ordering of systems related components (in conjunction with AE, Mechanical Engineering and Purchasing
  • Researching new systems and related technology
  • Supports AE & PM role for approval packages and turnovers by analyzing information from the customer, quotation, Mechanical Engineering relative to the application requirements for buyout items.
  • Systems costing support
  • Serves as primary after sale point of contact for Project Management department (PM) for buyout components.
  • Meets technical expectations with clear and concise two-way communication with the internal and external customers.
  • Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Manages key vendor/partner relationships and orders to ensure technical compliance; reduce financial risk as well as maximize the financial performance on any given project.
  • Special Projects developing costing and tracking tools related to systems content
  • Travels as required may include up to 25% travel to support sales and site project management efforts
  • Continuously improves operating efficiencies by participating in cross-functional teams, eliminating non-value-added activities and documenting processes and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.
