Project Wastewater Engineer
About The Position
A multi-discipline consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Wastewater Engineer for their growing team in Suffern, New York! This role involves leading projects and developing the team's capabilities in wastewater conveyance systems. The engineer will manage all project phases from planning and design to construction, and will be responsible for creating complete construction packages, managing cost estimates and schedules, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time. The position also requires performing detailed engineering calculations, utilizing design software, mentoring junior staff, and exceeding client expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of planning, design, and construction municipal wastewater conveyance experience
- PE License
- Experience with preparing, reviewing, and approving project designs, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Experience with process design, treatment plant upgrades, and pump station design
- Experience with data analysis/technical problem solving
- Experience with training/mentoring junior staff
- Experience with client relationship building (prepare/develop proposals) and a record of winning business
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Use technical knowledge and experience to lead projects and develop project team’s overall capabilities
- Manage all aspects of projects (planning, design, construction of wastewater conveyance systems)
- Lead development of construction documents/specifications
- Handle engineering services during construction
- Coordinate project completion with other disciplines
- Develop medium to large planning and design project from start to finish
- Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables)
- Create/manage cost estimates and project schedules
- Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule
- Ensures projects meet established budgets/delivery schedules
- Perform detailed engineering calculations/analysis
- Utilize design software to solve complex issues
- Mentor/train junior staff
- Meet/exceed client expectations
