About The Position
Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation team in our Sault Ste. Marie Office. This role involves acting as an emissions auditor for an industrial facility, performing qualitative and quantitative observations of the environmental management system, and providing accurate documentation. The position requires collecting soil, groundwater, and surface water samples, liaising with site representatives, regulators, and contractors, and complying with all required training.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in a related discipline, preferably in environmental studies, environmental science or engineering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Technical writing skills
- Valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle required (work related travel expenses will be compensated)
- Availability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, complying with client and company specific safety requirements.
- Occasional travel within other areas of Northern Ontario may be required
- Availability to work a standard 8-hour day and occasionally work outside of core business hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in environmental air monitoring and compliance reporting is not required but is considered an asset
- 0-3 years of experience in environmental consulting will be considered an asset
- Industrial operation experience is not mandatory but will be considered an asset
- Experience or training relating to Method 303 is not required, but considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Act as an emissions auditor for an industrial facility
- Perform various qualitative and quantitative observations of the environmental management system, and provide accurate and concise documentation
- Complete responsibilities of the role compliant to Method 303 – Determination of Visible Emissions
- Collect soil, groundwater and surface water samples for ongoing monitoring
- Liaise with Site representatives, regulators and contractors
- Comply with and successfully complete all required training, including respirator fit testing and working at heights training (provided)
