About The Position

Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing various duties. This includes performing all necessary project work as needed/requested, such as floor care, window washing, and pressure washing. The role also involves updating and resolving work tickets in an electronic quality assurance platform, operating various types of equipment with appropriate PPE, measuring and maintaining chemicals correctly, and cleaning/maintaining equipment according to manufacturer guidelines. The employee will report maintenance issues to their supervisor, demonstrate regular attendance, and assist with special projects. Responsibilities also include loading/unloading equipment, carpet care, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, floor care on hard surfaces, washing walls/ceilings/woodwork, and transporting trash and waste.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • No Computer skills needed.
  • No certifications needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in janitorial work and floor care is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Performs all necessary project work as needed / requested – this includes but is not limited to: floor care, window washing, pressure washing, high dusting, etc.
  • Updates and resolves work tickets as necessary in our electronic quality assurance platform.
  • Operates various types of equipment while donning adequate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Measures chemicals correctly.
  • Maintains chemicals, including labeling and dispensing correctly.
  • Cleans and maintains all equipment in accordance with manufacture guidelines.
  • Reports any maintenance issues to supervisor or manager.
  • Demonstrates regular, predictable attendance at the job site or location.
  • Assists with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects as needed.
  • Loads and unloads equipment from work vehicles.
  • Vacuums, shampoos, bonnets and extracts carpets / stairwells.
  • Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
  • Performs floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
