This is an opportunity for a licensed survey professional who enjoys technical ownership, mentoring team members, solving complex boundary challenges, and making a visible impact on projects throughout New York. At Fisher Associates, we are a multidisciplinary design services firm with nine locations nationwide. Our services span civil/site engineering, transportation engineering, landscape architecture, architecture, planning, environmental services, land surveying, GIS, construction inspection, precast, and construction engineering, each offering opportunities to shape communities and improve lives.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in land surveying.
  • Professional Survey License required.
  • Experience using surveying software and equipment including AutoCAD, GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
  • Knowledge of boundary determinations, control adjustments, topographic surveying and mapping, NYSDOT Standards and Procedures, and ALTA requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites throughout New York.
  • Ability to access construction sites, traverse uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise survey technicians, field crews, and CADD technicians assigned to project teams.
  • Perform routine and complex survey calculations and control adjustments.
  • Conduct, assign, and support records research activities.
  • Perform, assign, and review CADD drafting assignments.
  • Analyze boundary evidence, parcel records, and right-of-way documentation to determine property boundaries.
  • Determine and document property boundaries, easements, land ownership information, and related survey findings.
  • Develop topographic surveys and mapping deliverables to support planning, engineering, and design efforts.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and facilitate project deliverables to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Provide QA/QC review of survey work across multiple market sectors.
  • Mentor and support less experienced members of the survey team.
