About The Position

Adams, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Support - Permit Specialist to join our team in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for permitting activities across all Adams, Inc. locations, helping ensure our electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and construction projects move efficiently from planning to completion. If you enjoy working with local municipalities, managing detailed administrative processes, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and solving problems that help keep operations on track, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in permitting, project coordination, construction administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working with municipalities, utility companies, or regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or fire protection industries.
  • Experience with ServiceTitan, ERP systems, permitting software, or project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for construction, service, and installation projects.
  • Coordinate with municipal building departments, inspectors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor permit status and proactively follow up to minimize project delays.
  • Schedule inspections and communicate requirements to project teams.
  • Maintain accurate permit records, documentation, and compliance information.
  • Track contractor registrations and municipal licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate permit revisions, renewals, amendments, and project closeouts.
  • Partner with project managers, operations teams, service departments, and branch personnel to support project success.
  • Assist with permit fee processing and related administrative functions.
  • Develop strong working relationships with municipalities and regulatory agencies throughout Wisconsin and surrounding markets.
