About The Position

J T Russell & Sons, Inc. is hiring an experienced Project Superintendent to lead a high-profile project at the Hickory Airport. This is a short-term, approximately 6-month project, with the possibility of future employment for the right candidate. As Project Superintendent, you'll take a hands-on leadership role in the day-to-day field operations of the Hickory Airport project. You'll work closely with project management while leading foremen, crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, production, and safety.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience on roadway/highway heavy civil construction projects
Experience with large-scale roadway, site, utility, and pipe projects
Proven leadership and crew-management ability
Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and practices
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment

Responsibilities

Lead field operations with a focus on Safety, Production, Quality, and Profitability
Coordinate crews, subcontractors, heavy equipment, materials, and project resources
Keep work progressing according to schedule and budget
Communicate with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and project personnel
Maintain accurate daily and weekly project documentation
Ensure work meets project specifications and company quality standards
Develop and lead foremen and field personnel
Help identify and resolve field issues before they impact the project
