About The Position

LaRiviere, Inc. is seeking experienced heavy highway construction project superintendents for heavy civil work in the Coeur d Alene, Idaho, and Spokane, Washington regions. This is a field position located at job sites around the Coeur d Alene/Spokane area. The role involves planning workflow, scheduling manpower and equipment, overseeing safety compliance, and training personnel on safe work practices. The superintendent will also be expected to operate construction-related heavy equipment proficiently and safely. This position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work in various weather conditions, and to act as a management representative with customers, subcontractors, and municipalities.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Operating Experience: 7 years
  • 5 years leadership experience on heavy highway construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a variety of construction heavy equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to area job sites.
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to report to work on time.
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to read plans
  • Act as a management representative with customers, subcontractors, municipalities, etc.
  • Ability to operate construction related heavy equipment (Excavator, Skid-steer, bulldozer, backhoe, front end loader, grader, articulating haul truck, etc.) proficiently and safely at all times and in all types of conditions.
  • Continuously and frequently bending, climbing stairs/steps, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance.), repeated push pull motion, simple grasping, fine manipulation.
  • Ability to work safely around other moving machinery, exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Required to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan workflow for most efficient use of resources.
  • Schedule manpower and equipment.
  • Plan for and oversee safety compliance on all jobs.
  • Collaborate with safety director.
  • Train personnel on safe work practices.
  • Operate construction related heavy equipment proficiently and safely.
  • Assist with manual labor activities as necessary.
  • Attend and facilitate regular safety meetings.
  • Report any safety concerns to your immediate supervisor.
  • Keep equipment clean.
  • Complete daily reports and enter all time and equipment usage records into Bid2Win system.
