About The Position

This is a seasonal position, allowing for winters off while benefits continue year-round. The role involves administering awarded project contracts (asphalt, grading, and concrete), analyzing project documentation, and planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget completion. The position requires outdoor work and the ability to function effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the product line and a supervisory role.
  • Experience in HCSS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights, and some Saturdays.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee efficiency of gravel submittals and ensure compaction tests are correct.
  • Oversee the efficiency of the milling process, including the milling crew, trucking, and clean-up.
  • Submit paving submittals to the State/City or project owner and oversee the efficiency of the paving process.
  • Oversee the traffic control structure and establish job boards with required notifications.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
  • Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Safely and properly manage and coordinate project activities with department Superintendents/Foreman.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including ensuring SWPPP is properly updated and documenting daily process reports.
  • Approve and review crew work hours and pertinent job information daily.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve situations, including material quality and equipment operation/repair.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); be self-motivated, a team-player with good interpersonal skills; and develop and maintain positive customer relations, acting courteously and respectfully towards others.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
