Project Superintendent (Seasonal)
About The Position

The position involves safely supervising and coordinating activities in asphalt paving, grading, milling, and concrete production.
Requirements
- Over 2 years up to and including 4 years from post high school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment.
- Minimum 3 years experience in product line and supervisory role.
- Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations.
- Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
Nice To Haves
- Paving Supervisor experience preferred.
- CDL preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee efficiency of gravel/base operation and produce quality gravel/base product.
- Oversee efficiency of milling operation and base jobs to produce quality gravel/base product.
- Oversee efficiency of paving operation to produce quality asphalt product.
- Oversee quality and efficiency of equipment maintenance.
- Communicate gravel/base crew needs with dispatch and plant.
- Work with crews, inspectors, and subcontractors to complete projects.
- Complete quality gravel/base jobs within specifications and necessary paperwork.
- Deliver samples to the lab.
- Communicate milling crew needs with dispatch and plant.
- Communicate paving crew needs with dispatch, calculating truck requirements based on various factors.
- Communicate needs to the plant.
- Produce quality asphalt product within specifications.
- Tour work sites to ascertain progress, ensure compliance with time schedules, and detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Measure slope and thickness of paving to verify compliance.
- Measure distances from reference points to locate construction boundaries.
- Direct work crews engaged in operation of vehicles.
- Verify curvature of graded surface using a hand level.
- Supervise bituminous paving crews, aggregate production crews, or crews engaged in operating machines to tamp, roll, and smooth surfaces for highway subgrades.
- Communicate needed information to employees.
- Assist new employees.
- Approve and submit work hours for the crew and pertinent job information daily.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
