Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years or more medical billing experience
  • 2 years or more of experience in a clinical laboratory environment

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior Labcorp experience
  • Experience updating or developing workflow documentation and training materials
  • Strong familiarity with laboratory workflows, particularly reference and send‑out testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain accuracy in complex workflows
  • Working knowledge of CMS billing rules, medical necessity requirements, and payer guidelines
  • Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across departments
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze workflow issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain multiple laboratory billing Workqueues (WQs) in Epic to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.
  • Review, update, and maintain billing training materials, workflow documentation, and process guides.
  • Monitor and interpret CMS billing guidelines and payer policy updates; translate necessary changes into workflow updates and training materials.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams, billing teams, and HHS leadership to identify workflow gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide clear, professional communication across departments, including escalation of issues and sharing of process updates.
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation, billing tasks, and communication.
