About The Position

The Project Specialist of Sales and Product Strategy is responsible for working on and executing strategic business initiatives to quote, win and maintain large projects and US Contract business. The Project Specialist is responsible for the submission of large Dealer or direct based projects from conception stage through to Installation, with the support of the Project Manager. They will work in combination with the Project Managers and the sales team to establish projects that require a project plan and structure from quotation to order to project installation and completion. This is a fixed-term contract position to provide coverage for a maternity leave.

Requirements

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a post-secondary institution preferably in business, interior design, architecture, or a related field.
  • Travel required. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel between Canada and USA without restrictions.
  • Proven abilities to think critically and strategically.
  • Work within AutoCAD, 2D and 3D, proficiently.
  • Work within CET, Giza, 2020, SIF programs proficiently.
  • Achieve results. Make the correct decisions and implement the necessary changes required to achieve the goals/objectives.
  • Create and maintain a project plan.
  • Be organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently; able to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions.
  • Commit to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage resources (President, etc.) to deliver results. Solve problems and makes appropriate decisions.
  • Promote and generate cooperation from all members of the project team; foster the development of a common project vision and objectives and fully participates in creating a unified team that get results.
  • Manage conflict.
  • Communicate well in writing and in speaking. Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting analytical data on large projects won and lost to compare and strategize.
  • Reviewing large project BID’s and RFP’s including government and private business in the Canadian.
  • Understanding the full scope of assigned projects, from design, sales strategy and engineering across North America and managing those projects from start to finish.
  • Offering insights and guidance with large dealer partner project quotes to ensure they are done to spec and with engineering requirements in mind (value engineer where needed).
  • Quoting within Giza or CAD when needed.
  • Working on and reviewing BID submissions from large dealerships, coordinating with the designer and the sales team on how to quote to win.
  • Conducting site visits, whether local or requiring travel within the USA to review on-site concerns/issues in coordination with large projects won.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Offering creative solutions for Tayco through active involvement with the Tayco Sales Team, dealers, and outside designers. Including, but not limited to, Project proposals, BID packages.
  • In coordination with the Project Manager, leading a collaborative team of key stakeholders from engineering, design, and sales to ensure the success of each large project.
