About The Position

Project Smart is a summer educational initiative aligned with the Texas Migrant Education Program (MEP), which supports students who have experienced educational disruptions due to migratory agricultural or fishing work. The program focuses on helping eligible students strengthen their academic skills and bridge learning gaps resulting from mobility. We are seeking certified teachers who are committed to student achievement and capable of delivering high-quality instruction. Project Smart Tutors will provide tutoring and enrichment activities to participating students over a 3–4-week period during the summer.

Requirements

• Texas Teacher Certification, required
• Bachelor’s Degree, required
• Must be fluent in Spanish
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized tutoring and intensive math instruction with supplementary support in reading and writing to migrant students.
• Implement engaging lessons that are linguistically accommodated and tailored to students' individual needs and academic goals.
• Provide structured opportunities for students to verbalize their problem-solving skills using hands-on activities with manipulatives.
• Continuously assess students’ understanding, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Promote parent involvement using evidenced-based strategies that support student learning.
• Collect formative and summative data, including parent and student feedback.
