About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in designing electrical power systems to join their Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA office. The role involves providing technical and design consulting services focused on electrical power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding design for the Resilience Water Business Line. The position also includes managing tasks and overseeing the work of junior staff. The ideal candidate should be performance-driven, possess a strong educational background, and be able to work productively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an emphasis on power.
7 years of relevant work experience.
Fundamentals of Engineering / Engineer in Training certificate.
Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in California or able to acquire via reciprocity from registration in another state in the USA.
Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook).
Solid working knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Field Instrumentation, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) as they relate to electrical design.

Responsibilities

Support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities, with a focus on electrical design and coordination across multiple projects.
Develop design criteria, perform calculations, and prepare one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
Collaborate closely with the Control Systems group.
Provide oversight during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, conducting field inspections, and ensuring QA/QC and safety compliance.
Perform or supervise power system analyses using tools such as ETAP or SKM, including arc flash hazard studies.
Manage tasks and oversee the work of junior staff.
